3: Managing footage and editing
Once filming was completed all that was left to do was create the film.
Opening a new project I adjusted the sequence setting to what I needed to have my video set at – frame size: 1920 x 1080, 24 fps, etc.
Then it was time to start editing. First I had to import all the clips I needed. So clicking onto file, I then clicked on import.
I made sure that all films were in different folders, so that it was easier to find them for editing.
I then clicked onto my required files – including my song choice. Once they were imported into the program. It was then time to choose which clips were going to be used.
After picking my chosen clips, and placing them onto the sequence. I then began to cut then up using the cut tool (the razor blade symbol) so that I could follow the story board as best as I could.
After putting all my footage into the desired places I then began to wonder if there was any need for transitions.Clicking onto ‘Opacity’ in ‘Effects controls’ I added key frames where I thought it was needed.
Once I was happy with the trailer, and made sure it followed the story board. It was then time to export the video.
