Process of making the video:
The first step to making the video was to import all footage into the Premier Pro program, and then put all of the clips through ‘MPEG Streamclip’ so that when it comes to rendering the final video – it won’t take as long as it normally would.
Editing the clip:
Once the video clips were ready – they needed to be reimported before they could be edited on the time line. The process of putting the images together is a simple one, they are simply put onto the time line – and then clipped to the length that is desired, or the amount of footage needed.
An effect that I used is lowering the Opacity to do a ‘fade out to black’ which can give the effect of time passing. In the editing process another effect that I used was done by using the ‘cut’ tool on a length of a clip, after placing two clips together I then cut parts out of the top clip – while leaving the other whole – this gave a cut effect between two scenes. A final effect I used was after putting some more clips together I then lowered the Opacity so that the top clip was faded slightly, yet the footage underneath could be seen too – this was effective for moments where I wanted to portray madness.
Another effect I made came from putting two clips together, but then I’d cut out some of the clip so it quick cut between scenes.
The hardest part was trying to create an interesting video with out repeating certain clips too many times.
For the ending I decided to have the whole music replay in reverse order – in quick time – to portray the idea of reflection, as well as the idea of turning in a circle. The man was alone at the begging, because his wife left him, then he was alone in his anger and madness after murdering his ex wife.
